NetWrench for Android
A toolkit for the people who install and fix networks — technicians, installers, ISP engineers. It reads the router through the vendor's own management interface, surveys the air, scans the network and measures throughput, on site, from a phone.
Download
Free · Android 8.0 or newer.
Measurements and tools are unlimited. Per day: configuring two different routers (any number of changes on each), two iPerf3 runs and two terminal sessions. The full version lifts those limits: a one-time in-app purchase, no subscription.

Debug build of 14 October 2026, 15:40 · 23.8 MB · Android 8.0 or newer.
Signed with a debug key rather than a Play key, so Android will ask you to allow installation from unknown sources. It installs alongside the Play version as a separate app.

What it does
Router
WAN MAC for ISP binding, model and firmware identification, Wi-Fi name and password in one request, joining a new router by factory SSID pattern.
Wi-Fi
Air survey plotted by frequency, channel overlap, the quietest channel, link quality at a given spot.
Network
Device discovery and their open ports, ping with jitter and loss, a trace of the route outward, throughput measured with iPerf3.
Tools
MAC and subnet calculators: step by one, range bounds, broadcast and host count.
Link checks
Ten checks on one tap, each Pass / Warning / Fail — a screen you can show the subscriber.
Supported routers
| Vendor | Available |
|---|---|
| MikroTik | WAN MAC · WAN IP · LAN IP · interfaces · read WAN · DHCP · DNS · Wi-Fi read and write · reboot · firmware |
| OpenWrt | WAN MAC · WAN IP · interfaces · read and write WAN · Wi-Fi read and write · firmware |
| TP-Link | WAN MAC · WAN IP · read and write WAN · Wi-Fi read and write · initial setup |
| Tenda | WAN MAC · WAN IP · read WAN · Wi-Fi read and write · reboot · initial setup |
A function the router module cannot perform never appears in the interface. An unrecognised router does not stop the work: the survey, the scan, the throughput test and the diagnostics are all vendor-independent.
Principles
- Measured, or nothing. A value that could not be obtained is shown as unavailable, not estimated.
- Correct failure over fake success. Where the data is missing the app says so and carries on with what works.
- Nothing leaves the device. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising.
- No background activity, no root. Scanning happens on your command only.
Requirements
- Android 8.0 or newer.
- Location permission — required by Android itself for Wi-Fi scanning. Your location is not used or transmitted.
- Router credentials are entered by you and kept in the Android Keystore.
